Title: Catalina of Dumaguete Re-imagined
Organizing the concept for this piece was quite a task, there was not much to go on with how Catalina was described but then again this gave me more room to recreate her into my own version. I wanted to showcase the Philippine culture as one in this artwork. The main pieces are inspired from symbols that originated in all 3 parts of the country. The T’boli headdress is from Luzon, the malong dress from Mindanao, and of course the story of Catalina from Visayas.
